This Cookie Policy was last updated on 11 July 2026 and applies to citizens and legal permanent residents of the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
1. Introduction
Our website, https://petrokalli.gr (hereinafter: "the website") uses cookies and other related technologies (for convenience all technologies are referred to as "cookies"). Cookies are also placed by third parties we have engaged. In the document below we inform you about the use of cookies on our website.
2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file that is sent along with pages of this website and stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer or another device. The information stored there may be returned to our servers or to the servers of the relevant third parties during a subsequent visit.
3. What are scripts?
A script is a piece of code used to make our website function properly and interactively. This code is executed on our server or on your device.
4. What is a web beacon?
A web beacon (or a pixel tag) is a small, invisible piece of text or image on a website that is used to monitor traffic on the website. In order to do this, various data about you are stored using web beacons.
5. Cookies
5.1 Technical or functional cookies
Our website is static: it has no user accounts, no shopping cart and no content management system. We place no cookies of our own. We only store two values in your browser's local storage:
- petrokalli-lang — the language you selected (Greek or English), so you don't have to choose it again.
- petrokalli-consent — your cookie choice, so we don't ask you on every visit.
Both values stay solely on your device, are never sent to any server and cannot identify you. They are necessary for the website to work, so they do not require consent. You can delete them at any time from your browser settings.
5.2 Statistics — cookieless measurement
We measure website traffic with a tool that uses no cookies. Nothing is stored on your device, no user profile is created and you are not tracked across other websites. Only aggregated, anonymous figures are collected — for example how many times a page was viewed, from which country, from what kind of device and from which referring link. You cannot be identified from them.
We do not use Google Analytics or any other tool that places tracking cookies. Because no cookies are placed and no personal data is stored, this measurement does not require your consent.
5.3 Marketing / tracking cookies
We use none. We show no advertising, build no user profiles and do not track your behaviour on or off this website.
5.4 Social media
The footer contains plain links to our social media pages. These are ordinary links, not embedded content: they load no third-party code and place no cookies. Cookies may only be placed once you follow such a link and arrive on that network's own website, where its own policy applies.
5.5 Embedded Google map
The footer of every page contains an embedded Google map. It is the only third-party service that places cookies on this website. For exactly that reason the map does not load automatically: a panel appears in its place, and it loads only if you give your consent or explicitly click on it. Until then, none of your data is sent to Google. Once the map loads, Google receives your IP address and may place cookies; from that point Google's privacy policy applies.
5.6 Forms (booking and contact)
The website has two forms. Neither of them places any cookies:
- Booking form (opens from the "Book" button on every page) — collects: arrival and departure dates, accommodation, full name, email, phone number and any remarks you add.
- Contact form ("Contact" page) — collects: full name, email, phone number, subject and your message. Before sending, you are asked to confirm explicitly, via a checkbox, that you have read and accept this Privacy Policy.
In both forms, submission is not possible unless you explicitly accept this Privacy Policy.
In both cases the details are sent to us as an email to info@petrokalli.gr and are used solely to answer your request. They are not stored on the website — there is no database. The message is sent directly from our own server, with no external service involved: your details never pass through a third party.
6. Cookies placed
- Google Maps — third-party service — places cookies. Loads only after consent or an explicit click.
There is no other third-party service. Specifically, the website does not use Google Analytics, Google reCAPTCHA, Google Fonts (the fonts are hosted on our own server), YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor or Polylang.
The 360° tours run on software (Pannellum) hosted on our own server: it places no cookies and contacts no third parties.
The statistics tool (see 5.2) places no cookies and therefore does not appear in the list above.
7. Consent
On your first visit, a panel appears at the bottom of the screen with two equally weighted options: "Accept" and "Decline". Your choice concerns only the embedded Google map — there is no other third-party cookie.
- Accept — the map loads normally on every page.
- Decline — the map does not load; the panel stays in its place. If you ever want to see it, you can load it with a single click, for that page only, without changing your choice.
7.1 Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is exactly as easy as giving it.
8. Enabling/disabling and deleting cookies
You can use your internet browser to automatically or manually delete cookies. You can also specify that certain cookies may not be placed. Another option is to change the settings of your internet browser so that you receive a message each time a cookie is placed. For more information about these options, please refer to the instructions in the "Help" section of your browser.
Please note that our website may not work properly if all cookies are disabled. If you do delete the cookies in your browser, they will be placed again after your consent when you visit our website again.
